We have completed work to restore cult director Juliusz Machulski’s film “V.I.P”. The director himself recalled how he had wanted to make a thriller as a change from the comedy genre. After “KingSize”, this was our second contact with his work, supervised by the original director of photography, Janusz Gauer. Unusually for Polish cinema of the time, all the set designs and costumes conformed to one colour palette, matching the autumnal exterior shots of Masuria and Warsaw.
Our involvement included restoring the image in 2.5K resolution, colour correction, and preparing the release masters.
