Alaska is a Drag is definitely one of the most original projects we have had the pleasure to be involved in. This film, directed by Shaz Bennett with cinematography by Allison Kelly, tells the story of a young fish-cannery worker who dreams of escaping the dull reality of Alaska. The hero, Leo, is an unusual character – on the one hand an aspiring drag queen and boxer, on the other a simultaneously tough yet sensitive boy, who loves his sister more than anything on earth.
We did postproduction work on this film as a prize awarded during last year’s US in Progress event, part of the American Film Festival in Wrocław. Our tasks included doing ACES 2K colour correction, online, grain management and mastering (DCP, BD, DVD).
